Our Voices Matter
As attorneys, we understand how the underrepresentation of Asian Americans in political spaces can lead to policies that do not promote our communities' interests.
Asian Americans have the lowest voter turnout both nationally and in the state of Georgia. In June 2016, VABA-GA, in partnership with Asian Americans Advancing Justice-Atlanta, the Center for Pan Asian Community Services, the United Vietnamese American Community of Georgia, and several Vietnamese community members, launched its Vietnamese Voices campaign to increase voter turnout among Asian-American communities in Georgia with a specific emphasis on the Vietnamese-American community in Atlanta.
In less than three months, we have registered approximately 430 new voters. This video, shot and produced by Vietnamese-American videographer and Vietnamese Voices collaborator Kavi Vu, is part of our continued effort to empower underrepresented communities.
